How do you begin?
I guess this is a bit of a strange question to answer because I am sure that we all have the creative spark in us, but I think this generally needs something to fan the flame, as it were.
I started writing poetry as an outlet for emotion, but only wrote a couple of poems, it was only when I began the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in daily life that I received the gift of poetry more openly.
I often find that the words just flow from me; almost without prompting to a situation or encounter.
I think my answer to the question is - enjoy the poetry of others, and if you feel a stirring within you to write, then believe in your ability and just go with it!
